Lameness is often a tricky issue to diagnose at home. Symptoms can present in an area that is actually indicative of another leg entirely. Let me help take the mystery out of diagnosing your horse’s lameness. Years of experience combined with state-of-the-art technology can pinpoint your horse’s lameness and get them on the road to recovery.

Dr Thompson offers advanced lameness evaluations to determine the cause of your horses unsoundness. This includes palpation, evaluation of your horse in motion, as well as flexion tests. Diagnostic blocks may then be used to further localize the lameness. This is followed by imaging (radiographs and ultrasound) in order to accurately identify the source of lameness. If the cause of the lameness is undetermined, referral for further diagnostics (bone scan, MRI) may be recommended
Dr Thompson offers the following lameness diagnostics and treatment:

  • mobile digital radiography
  • mobile digital ultrasound
  • pre purchase exams
  • intra-articular injections
  • IRAP
  • Noltrex
  • PRP
  • RLT laser
